To do this you have to drop the entire head lining. To do this the interior trim all needs to be stripped to window sill height, roof lights removed and roof mounted grab handles removed.
The headlining is removed via the back door.
On the back of the headlining undo half of the little bolts which secure the elastic pockets.
Twist and remove one end of the elastic which reaches from one side to the other.
Tie a new knot into the elastic and reinstall, or replace the elastic.
Reinstall map pocket bolts
Reinstall rooflining.
Leave a day for this if you haven't done one before.
